Footprints to the sea – for Poetry Jam

Björn Rudbergs writings

the clouds lament in solitude
as sea is sighing sorrow
the footprints leading out to sea
a soul of no tomorrow

recalling what she wrote to him
about his foul betrayal
reflects herself in tidal pools
the saddest of portrayals

her cotton dress will pull her down
she longs for deeper water
and high above the seagulls cry
to her it sounds like laughter

why would they end it quite like this?
an ending of together
now sixteen and her life’s forfeit
she’s leaving earth on feathers

Linked to Poetry Pantry, where I have seen so many poetry friends hang out. So this is my first time here. I tried a sorrowful ballad for this beautiful picture.
